Be aware that a special tool is needed to disassemble the left fork on an 1800. Also be aware that a special tool or a home-made tool is needed to drive in the fork seals on any VTX.

This guide has all the filters listed that will fit all types of bikes. Our 1300 and 1800 are listed in group 5. I changed the oil following the shop manual's instruction and added 3.9 Quarts of new oil. I started the bike, warmed her up, shut her down, waited a short while for the oil to settle into the pan, and checked the level. The level is still showing high.
