Short answer: no. Braton (and Burston) are not good at all; they are meant to be used by new players and discarded once you have options. Their Prime versions are better but still fundamentally bad. You can mostly complete the star chart with them if you mod them properly but that is not saying much.Burston has more ammo and much higher fire rate. It fires like Baza for example.
