If you think it might be a rod bearing, pull the filter cut it open, unroll the filter media and take a look for metal, you can also order an oil sample kit, take the sample send it in and it will also tell the tale, if its a bearing. So we pulled it out rolled it over and dropped a new lbz crank in. It never spun any bearings but we put new rods and mains in and it’s still running today with another 50 thousand miles since then.I replaced the crankshaft seal behind the harmonic balancer, replaced the bolt, torqued it to 74ftlbs and then added 90 degrees. Put it all together and fire it up. Within a few seconds the harmonic balancer bolt has backed itself off. It might be fine, and your issue is just the hub in front of it.
