The 4" are more reliable, require less maintenance, give more sight radius, more bullet velocity, and are still 95% as easy to conceal. Having said that, I had an Ultra Carry for awhile, and it worked perfectly reliably.Weight is not an issue with a good holster and belt set up. Without the right gear, you are going to have carry problems regardless of whether the frame is aluminum alloy or steel. As for caliber, I personally prefer the .45 ACP.
