If it says Astro-Sonic then you are looking at solid state. Now there are some suttle turntable changes though the years, and that is what I normally use to date. Also Magnavox would use different turntable styles to show if it was a delux model or not. The Concert Grand line which had it's last gasp in this time frame was Magnavox's high end lineup. Those were very powerful for consoles and had open reel recorders and/or 8 track. And those had 40 watts/channel amplifiers and high end speakers for a console.
