I'm switching from a Pixel 2, which had a fantastic Visual Voicemail built into the native phone app. I'd honestly forgotten what a pain it was to deal with regular voicemail, and I expected that my new S22 would be the same. But sadly its not.I shouldn't have to add another app like you mail as a workaround. The issue started with the S21 Ultra, and continued with the S22 Ultra. Sometimes a new message will push the old one through; sometimes it won't. I feel like the carrier (AT&T) simply reviewed notes on the account and decided the "solution" is to call into the voicemail.

The apparent reason that the transcription to text of the Visual Voicemail quit working, on my Samsung S23, was that the "AT&T visual voice mail" app was not present. Instead the Samsung Visual Voice mail app was setup which does not offer transcription. Solution: Get and install the AT&T visual voice mail from the Playstore.I see blank "Inbox" and "Archive" sections. When I choose "Settings" from the three-dots menu in the upper right of Visual Voicemail I see the following message: "You can access voicemail settings in the Google Fi app" + an "OPEN GOOGLE FI" link.
