The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Education and Human Sciences is honoring the legacy of longtime CEHS faculty member and administrator Gwendolyn Newkirk by renaming the Human Sciences Building on East Campus. In the spring of 2020, Mabel Lee Hall was demolished to make way for Carolyn Pope Edwards Hall, which will be home to the College of Education and Human Sciences. The new facility will feature new classrooms, meeting spaces, offices, labs and a 400-seat auditorium. The project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2022.
