In the mid-game, you probably want a main line of at least 40 tier 4+ shield infantry. This forms your anvil in battle, supplemented by 20-30 skirmishers and/or two handers. In the late game, when you have 200+ unit parties, having around 60-100 shield infantry is usually safe. The Battanian Oathsworn are one of my all-time favourite infantry units, and as a seasoned Bannerlord player, I have experimented with a variety of infantry units for numerous hours. These elite soldiers are highly trained and outfitted, making them a powerful force on the battlefield.I like them to be able to operate on any battlefield and the Sturgian Druzhinnik Champion is that unit. It's got better armour than the Bannerknight and better weapons than the Cataphract (counched lances are the best lances). What makes the Druzhinnik stand out though is that they are the best elite unit in sieges after the Fian Champion.I like to have a mix of everything. Infantry, archers, horse archers and cavalry. I find a hill and place archers with infantry in the foot of the hill in front. Then i go with the MAs and and cavalry to harras and kill their mounted units.
