Raising your polearm skill will have you holding the lance more steadily. The shorter a time you hold the lance couched, the more accurate it is. If you want to do more stabbing and less couching, go for a shorter lance with a good spearhead and good speed. Or just get a really solid sidearm! Otherwise, good hunting!
