Mine seems more electrical, it does it with both heat and ac intermittently. The other day the heat was on max defrost and it was blowing cold air, hit the power button on the auto climate controls and then turned it back on using MFT and then it worked just fine. The same has happened with the AC as well.

This problem with the self adjustment to the lowest setting is a sign the fan motor probably needs to be replaced.
