Legionaries if you want the heaviest armour and a deadly throwing weapon. Heavy Axemen for javelins, heavy armour and big shields. If able, take a defensive position on the side of a hill, position next to some rocks to protect your flank, or best of all, sit in a dense forest. Legionaries have very high defence and Menavalions are one-hit wonders. But they are not op like some other troops and can be challenged by most other factions infantries. In my experience; Sturgian infantry soak up arrows best with their shield-wall, but that’s pretty much the only one-up they have.

This way you don't have pesky tier 6 units booking it ahead of the pack unprotected where they get mowed down by ranged units.IDK, could be, I've got a ~130 man army that has 20-25 of the line breaker tree in it and they usually make up pretty much half my infantry kills in any given engagement.
