I've had a THD6x4 for 15 years. I'm on my 2nd belt. I've pulled massive loads up 30+% hills. I've done likewise with a log tote. I've locked the axles and pulled crazy stuff. I've smelled the belt. I've had to shut down due to engine overheat. I've kind of pushed the limit many times. But my "clutch" is fine.The Primary clutch has weights and pins that can wear and likely why some suggested the primary as a likely source. Considering you only have the primary, secondary and belt. It is likely coming from one of the two clutches, so you got a 50% chance of getting it right the first time. Good luck and post the resolution with pictures if possible.

JD 850. I found a remanufactured Clutch for around $850 on Ebay. A new one from John deere will cost you an Arm, and a leg and another leg or close to $2000. The clutch is a 2 stage or actualy 2 clutchs in one, Drive line and PTO. You can just replace disks however, with the tractor split in two, I would do it all.
