Bought this LTZ 400 and it had a pretty tough life with it original owner, stripped out drain plug on the oil tank, rounded off drain plug on the crank case, butchered wire harness, rear light gone from wheeling, but it runs so I bought it.. Changed the oil and filter in my new to me 07 ltz400. I drained the tank and the crankcase. The book says. 2.1qts.sticker on the quad saya 2000ml. I put 2 qts in it which would be 1912ml. I assumed this would get it on the stick atleast but it didn't. I kept adding and checking and it took almost 3 qts.Change every 3 to 4,000mi, and do your first oil @ 500 to 1k mi. I suggest the Mobil1 m110A, or the Bocsh 3323 filter. Dont use K&N, certain models were recalled in 2016, and I dont trust them.
