I recently compared the Gen 4 G30, a G30 SF, and a G30s all side by side. All were new in the box, were blue labels and were priced exactly the same.I have most all the Glock .45's. When I was choosing which would be first in the 30 series (my first two .45's were G21SF and G21g4), the 30S's frame is same as 30SF and 30g4. The slide is slimmer on the 30S. But, the frame thickness is what grabbed my attention at first. Slimmer slide but same thickness in the frame.In my experience, both these calibers need an efficient compensator (muzzle brake) to tame the recoil sufficiently with the G30/30SF.
