Nothing seems to help I did replace the batteries and it stopped blinking and now it is solid "Cool On" When I run the test it does kick the AC on. So the AC itself is fine. It seems like it is something with the thermostat. It has fresh batteries. To cancel the Permanent Hold, press + or - and then press Cancel. To Remove the Schedule completely.
