I re-crimped the connectors with my fingers (it was pretty loose in the Quest 2 sockets) and a lot of my stutters and intermittent issues disappeared which contributed to lower FPS. 2.) I also got better FPS when I took my Oculus 2 back to default 3936 x 1384 at 72hz refresh.
