Another thing to note is if the valve timing is that far off or the chain has skipped teeth, you could possibly have a bent valve that is hanging up. The Suzuki machines were flawless maintenance wise. Never a mechanical issue. Easier to clean. Fit and finish better. Considerably lighter weight than the 850. Plenty of power but more vibration with the big single versus the Polaris twin. Ride is harsher due to the springs and lighter weight. Stock tires were trash.
The King Quad racks are more like the Polaris plastic racks (I think they were the first to introduce these) but on a closer look, I think its just plastic covers over the traditional metal racks.
