About Us. In 1972, Deroyce Volzke opened Volzke Mortuary in Seward, Nebraska. He was the sole operator until 1994 when his son, Jeff, joined his father as a funeral director in the family business. The name was changed to Volzke Funeral Home. After Deroyce’s retirement in 2016, Jeff took ownership of the funeral home.
